FABRIC CHOISES
Choosing the right fabrics and materials is essential to us - this is where our designs
come to life and where we lay the foundation for a longer lifecycle for our garments.
That’s why we prioritize quality, ensuring that our products offer more than just an attractive price.
Our goal is to provide stylish, well-crafted fashion for women, where quality remains accessible at an affordable price.
Viscose is a regenerated cellulose fiber made from chemically treated wood pulp. These fibers are produced by breaking down natural raw materials such as wood, grass, or leftover cotton - using solvents or other chemicals, before being spun into thread.
Viscose is lightweight, smooth to the touch, and has a silky drape. The term viscose specifically refers to the solution of wood pulp that is processed into fabric. It is a soft and breathable fiber, loved for its comfort and versatility.
Most of our viscose products will be made from LENZING™ ECOVERO™ viscose - a branded fiber exclusively produced by the Austrian company LENZING AG.
Derived from certified and controlled wood sources, LENZING™ ECOVERO™ fibers are produced with significantly lower energy and water consumption than conventional viscose. They are also certified with the internationally recognized EU Ecolabel for textile products (license no. AT/016/001).
A specialized manufacturing system enables LENZING™ ECOVERO™ fibers to be traced in the final product, even after extensive textile processing throughout the supply chain.
Cotton garments are widely loved by our consumers for their softness, comfort, and durability. When woven properly, cotton fabrics and dyes can maintain their quality over time.
Cotton comes from the cotton plant, which is grown worldwide. However, it is a water-intensive crop and is often treated with pesticides to protect against insects. Additionally, genetically modified organisms (GMOs) are sometimes used to increase yield.
Organic cotton, on the other hand, is grown without the use of toxic chemicals, including pesticides and GMOs. This makes organic cotton better for biodiversity and helps protect the soil.
Although organic cotton still requires significant water, the absence of pesticides allows the soil to retain more natural nutrients, reducing water needs over time. However, because GMO-free cotton has a lower yield per plant, more land is required to produce the same amount of cotton.
When choosing organic cotton, the key benefit is the avoidance of pesticides and toxic chemicals, rather than water savings. If water conservation is a priority, other natural fiber alternatives may be more suitable.
Most of our cotton products are made from organic cotton. We offer a wide range of cotton garments and always strive to source the best materials by balancing quality, price, and availability.
Polyester is a synthetic fiber made from crude oil and chemical additives. As a petroleum-based material, its production is linked to one of the most polluting industries in the world. Additionally, traditional polyester dyes are often not environmentally friendly and can contain harmful substances.
Despite this, polyester is widely used due to its strength, durability, and resistance to wrinkles and shrinking. It is especially popular with outerwear, as it provides flexibility, comfort, and ease of care. However, these advantages come at an environmental cost.
With an excess of plastic already present in landfills and ecosystems, producing new plastic is not a necessity - we can reuse and recycle existing plastic instead. That is why we are actively working to replace virgin polyester with recycled polyester, offering a more responsible alternative.
Recycled polyester is made from plastic waste, such as discarded bottles, polyester fabric scraps, or post-consumer textiles. Compared to conventional polyester, its production reduces environmental impact by limiting the extraction of natural resources.
Many of our most popular products are already made from recycled polyester, and we are committed to transitioning more of our best-selling polyester items into this more resource-efficient option.
Acknowkedging this, we have set goals to minimise the impact of our raw materials as much as possible, without affecting the good quality and design you already know and love.
We uphold strict requirements for our classifications. Every classified product undergoes a comprehensive evaluation and is only granted classification once it meets
every single criterion.
In 2021, we reached an important milestone by achieving at least 28% certified responsibly produced materials in our collections. We continuously strive to increase this percentage, with a goal of reaching a minimum of 42% responsibly produced materials by 2025.
By avoiding return packages, which are a burden for both the environment and the economy, you make a positive contribution. Return shipments require extra packaging and lead to increased CO2 emissions. Therefore, we recommend shopping consciously and only buying items that you expect to keep. On all our products, you can find current measurements and other information about the item.
