MATERIAL
STRATEGY
STRATEGY
The materials we choose play a significant role in our overall environmental footprint.
Recognizing this, we have set clear goals to minimize the impact of our raw materials as much as possible - without compromising the quality and design you know and love. We continuously monitor the materials we use and strive for improvement year after year.
We evaluate our materials based on seven key parameters:
1. Water use
2. Chemical use
3. Social issues
4. Environmental impact
5. Animal welfare
6. Price
7. Availability
A garment is classified as a better alternative to conventional options if 50% or more of its material is certified to have a lower environmental impact always measured against traditional alternatives.
Our Certification Strategy
Certifications will play a central role in our material strategy in the coming years. With a higher level of documentation, we can better evaluate our progress and guide consumers in making informed shopping choices.
Our priority is to ensure that our suppliers are certified, guaranteeing that all on-product information is accurate and verified.
A Holistic Approach to Design
The environmental impact of a garment goes beyond just the raw materials.
We take a holistic approach to product development, considering all aspects of a garment’s lifecycle. This means factoring in printing, dyeing, and washing processes, as well as looking at ways to extend a garment’s lifespan, make it easier to repair, and ensure it can be reused or recycled in the future.
