Testing programme and production processes
Considerations related to chemicals and the environment are part of our dialogue with suppliers and our ongoing assessments of materials and production processes. We have established internal guidelines for production methods and processes, including methods that we do not use or that are restricted, based on considerations for both production workers and end users.
Production processes and denim
In our work with denim, we use production methods aimed at reducing the consumption of water and chemicals compared to conventional processes, where possible. Among others, we use technologies developed by Jeanologia, including EIM (Environmental Impact Measuring), which is used to assess and document impacts related to washing processes.
Testing programme and chemical control
We have established a testing programme focused on identifying and controlling the presence of undesirable chemical substances in our products. Our work is based on a Restricted Substances List (RSL), which sets limits and bans for specific substances. Our RSL is based on recognised industry standards, including AFIRM, and is updated on an ongoing basis - at least once a year.
In relevant cases, our internal requirements are more restrictive than applicable EU legislation.
Verification and collaboration
We collaborate with an international testing and advisory organisation that conducts analyses and helps verify that our products comply with applicable legislation and our internal requirements. Testing and assessments are based on spot checks and risk assessments and provide a foundation for the continuous improvement of our practices.
